You are what you choose to be. It isn’t the failures that define you. It’s the success that entitles you. Failures are a part of life. It is the way you stumble upon the hardships that come in your way on the road to success in order to bring off the milestone.
“Those who dare to fail miserably can achieve greatly.”- John F. Kennedy
The road to success need not always be smooth. It may be rocky, and these rocks are the only obstacles that need to be jumped upon. Failure helps with building the aptitude to claw back from quandaries briskly. The more we fail the more resilient we become. We sometimes think that we’re going to get through something on our first try, but that’s not true at all. If we keep that thought in our mind, we’ll end up with a distressing failure that becomes arduous for us to tackle. Failure should never be a setback. In the concrete, it should be a rationale to make a comeback without the loss of hope.
“Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker. Failure is a delay, not defeat. It is a temporary detour, not a dead end.”- Denis Waitley
Let me tell you about the famous inventor Thomas Edison who is credited with inventions such as the first practical incandescent light bulb and phonograph. Thomas Edison was told by his teachers that he would never succeed in his life. But he did not pay heed to them. He instead proved to them that he isn’t a failure. When Thomas was asked about the many thousand times he failed while trying to create the light bulb he said, “I’ve not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
Sometimes we just have to get out of our comfort zones in order to retry to bring about something we’ve failed at. If we fail once, it doesn’t mean we’re going to keep failing. We ascertain from the mistakes we make in our past. These mistakes must not be the cause of failure the next time we try to attain our goal. At some point in life, we feel that we’re worthless or incompetent; that we don’t have the flair to be someone that the world may look up to. Everyone has the forte to be or do something prodigious in order to prosper in life and assuage them. All we need to do is just give it a burl.
“Failure is a feeling long before it becomes an actual result. It’s a vulnerability that breeds with self-doubt and then is escalated, often deliberately, by fear.”- Michelle Obama
People think about failure as a rationale to cease working towards a goal. However, it is one's slant that matters most. If we think of failure as a setback we might never get through it and rue it for the rest of our life and never procure success, but we must deem it as a motive to strive towards our success. The dread of failing is another obstacle. We must not fear it and instead, we must work hard and accept failure as a challenge.
I have come up against various failures in life, from attaining good grades to getting into a good institute. But all these failures don’t elucidate who and what I am. Instead, these failures made me potent and capable of facing hardships with the gusto of getting through them with ease. I take these failures as a challenge; a challenge I’ll deal with some efforts. No hardship is eternal. All hardships are temporary. It all hinges on how you cope with them and with what zeal you get to grips with them. So let us leave the past behind and move on towards our success with new enthusiasm.
